Type Approval is a process during which the relevant Approval Authority certifies that a product (automobile, machinery, trailer etc.) meets all regulatory, technical and safety requirements in line with current legislation.

The Technical File submitted to the Authority includes all relevant applications, analytical technical description of the product, certificates from recognised bodies, laboratory tests reports and assessments etc.
